Swab Team Services Grant

The Minnesota Department of Health Lead and Healthy Homes Program (LHHP) is announcing the availability of swab team services grants for the 2022–23 biennium. This grant program is authorized under Minnesota Statutes 144.9512. "Swab team services" are defined as activities that provide protection from lead hazards primarily through the use of interim controls.

This grant includes three areas of work:

  • Education and outreach
  • Blood lead testing
  • Swab team work

The total amount of grant funding for the entire grant period (through June 30, 2023) is up to $958,000, or $479,000 per year. The grant funds are dependent upon the availability of state lead funds approved by the legislature to MDH. Any awarding of final grant agreements as a result of this Request for Proposal (RFP) process is subject to final approval by the Commissioner of Health.

All applications must be received by MDH no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon) Central Time, on 11/15/2021.

HUD Lead Hazard Reduction Grant Program

This grant program will be administered by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). MDH is soliciting proposals from organizations that wish to become sub-grantees under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD): Lead Hazard Reduction Grant Program.

MDH’s goal is to identify organizations that can complete lead hazard reduction and healthy homes interventions in a combined total of 42 housing units across Southeastern Minnesota.

The total amount of grant funding for the entire grant period (through June 30, 2024) is up to $942,212. The grant funds are dependent upon the availability of federal HUD funds. Any awarding of final grant agreements as a result of this RFP process is subject to final approval by the Commissioner of Health.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through 12/31/22. Awards will be made on a first-come, first-served basis to selected applicants through 12/31/22. All applications must be received by MDH no later than 4:30 p.m. Central Time, on 12/31/22.
